Too much fun at SCUM!

Results are up from what was a stunning 8 Hours at Nowra with the guys and girls from SCUM! Big thanks to SCUM for building the course, and to all of the 459 of the riders for making this race one of the all-time biggest and best Working Week Series events.

Congratulations to all of the winners, including James Davies (photo on right) who won the BMC frame valued at $2000!

Note too that the pictures on this page have been changed to pictures from yesterday, click on a photo to open it & view it a little bigger.

As always for the results, please email us if you note any issues at all and we'll fix them promptly.

06/03/2008: We've published a new, revised set of results below containing corrections as emailed to date. If you notice any further issues, please email us

SCUM

This is one of those cases where the reality sounds much better than the name!

South Coast United Mountainbikers inc. is a mountain bike club based in the Shoalhaven area. Formed in relatively recently in 2004, they're lucky to be surrounded by some awesome State Forests, they currently have 4 Cross Country trails!.

Just how much fun does the Coondoo Rd track look?

All of the pictures on this page are from the one track! That's right, evidently when you get a little closer to the water you get some more variation in the trails, because we're not sure we've ever seen more variety in the one course. Big thanks to the follow SCUM committee members and regular riders for providing the photos: Greg Lewis, Richard Millard, Chris Smee, Laurie Donald, Evan Mobbs, Claire and Lauren Mathew and Deborah Napier.

The Coondoo road track has hosted a 4 hour enduro and a state round too, and we're really looking forward to taking round 2 of the BMC Working Week Series to a track that simply looks soo much fun!

Bring the family - a WWS round only 10min from the beach?

There are plenty of beaches along the coastline, with Callala being only 10mins from the actual track! What better way to secure that vital 'leave pass' than to take the family on a late-Summer beach getaway?

BMC - Our Major Sponsor

The challenge of bike engineering is to design the lightest possible frame which at the same time is very stiff, stable and safe, but still provides optimal power transfer from you to the ground. In a world of look-alike commodity bikes, BMC Bicycles create fascination through their unique Swiss design and technically perfect form. By combining high tech materials from the industry’s leading suppliers, Swiss engineering, and innovative frame designs, BMC Bicycles represent Swiss cycling precision.

BMC have engineered their Fourstroke (100mm) and Trailfox (120mm) series of bikes with the XC and marathon rider in mind. By utilising custom made precision bearings, compact forged pivot arms, and a closed rear triangle, the BMC patented VPS (Virtual Pivot System) suspension leads the industry in terms of stiffness and durability. The tuned wheel displacement curve of the VPS and custom tuned shocks ensure that VPS equipped bikes pedal as well as any other design available. Lightweight, efficient, durable, and beautiful, the Fourstroke and Trailfox embody all that BMC Bicycles represent. In Australia BMC Bicycles are distributed by leading wholesaler Dirt Works Australia.

Test ride a BMC Fourstroke or Trailfox at a BMC WWS event this year. Let yourself be captured by our passion!
